This slip of paper was found tucked inside the cover of Book No 8.
It lists fifty serial numbers with very brief descriptions of watches selected for an exhibition. The paper is undated so at first we did not know which exhibition they were for. (click on the image to zoom).
Some of the numbers occur elsewhere in the archive and indicate the list was compiled in about 1873 and was definitely not contemporary with Ledgers 8 & 9. (We know it was not for the 1878 Paris Exhibition as No.12112 is not there).
In 1873 the Company exhibited at the Vienna Universal Exhibition where they were awarded the “Medal of Progress” , and following the Exhibition, the “Allerhoechste Anerkennung” – the “Highest Distinction” – a personal award by HM the Emperor of Austria.
